How To Improve Employee Productivity

How To Improve Employee Productivity

Increasing employee productivity in your company is one of the best ways to make your business work better. It can be difficult to drive employee productivity because not everyone works and is motivated in the same way. Some people prefer to use automated services whilst others like to give a more personal touch. Coming up with a plan to optimize your employment service delivery is really important but it can be very difficult. If you do not know where to start, then here is a little advice on how you can improve employee productivity in your company.

Improve Onboarding

Many people tend to believe that once an employee has signed a contract, they immediately have a sense of loyalty to the company. This kind of traditional mentality has vanished from the workplace in the new generation. You need to spend time onboarding your employees and helping them integrate into your company’s culture. Research has suggested companies that manage to do this have an 82% chance of retaining their staff. It is not that difficult to do either. It only requires more training, feedback, and check-ins. All of which will help your company.

Micromanaging

Micromanaging is one of the worst traits that any company can foster. Whilst you may think that picking tasks for someone and demanding that they do them to your schedule is the best way to improve productivity, it is not. You need to allow your employees a sense of freedom and trust them to deliver. This will allow them to feel passion for their work and maybe even bring a little bit more creativity to their role. This will encourage other workers to push on as well. Micromanaging will just foster a negative atmosphere.

Encourage Flexible Working

Flexible working patterns have now become the norm and many people have found that it works for them. If you are open to this arrangement of working, then you may find that your employees are more productive. Allowing them to take control of their time management when it works for the business will not only allow them to feel valued and trusted but allows them to have a better work-life balance. Giving your employees more time off will prevent them from burning out and resenting work.

Hire People, not their CV

When you are hiring people, it can be a daunting task as you often receive lots of applications and it can be tough to find the right person. You should instead set up interview assessments that will allow the right candidates to present themselves without having to sift through reams of CVs. You can then meet these people in person and work out if they will fit in with you and your company. The best people may not be able to present themselves well in a CV.

Improving Productivity

This is something that every business wants to do. It can be a great way to make more money and retain your employees. However, the best way to do this is to seek feedback from your employees and see how you can improve the workplace.
